Muscle tension: Really, nothing to speak of causes only numbness in the lower spine. All i would surmise would be spasms/tension that could conceivably cause only numbness along with tightness. Address the muscle spasm with stretching, ice/heat, salonpas hot patches, core exercises, and the rest should subside.
