Before taking a pregnancy test and confirming it with my doctor...what are the main symptoms that indicate pregnancy? what should you look out for?

See the doctor 1st.: Early pregnancy may cause a variety symptoms: nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, abdominal pain, vaginal discharge, missed period and/or spotting. Because there is no way to be sure other than to take a pregnancy test, & because some of these symptoms may also indicate another, more serious condition such as ectopic pregnancy, you should visit your doctor.

Pregnancy test: If you had sex since your last period, and missed your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD.
