UV radiation is bad: When you tan your skin is receiving a dose of uv radiation that is remembered or retained for a long time. Some people are very susceptible to skin cancers after uv radiation. Uv radiation is received from tanning with a tanning bed or the sun. Your risk of skin cancer goes up with tanning.

Increased risk: They mean that by using a tanning bed your chances of developing melanoma has been drastically increased.
