A member asked:

For what length of time can you go without having a period if your not pregnant and not on the pill?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No limit: If there is minimal lining, there is nothing to shed, so no period. Most experts recommend forcing a period about every 3 months, to get rid of cells lining the womb that might turn abnormal if they stay inside. This is done with a pill with Progesterone (provera) after a negative pregnancy test.
