She should : Many doctors are worried about narcotic abuse but should treat their pts appropriately until the pt violates trust. Simply tell your doctor your pain and desires. But first line meds don't include narcotics. Be willing to try her suggestions first. But don't hesitate if your pain is not controlled. Be honest and she should give your meds to help out.
