Antihistamines: For environmental allergies, taking an antihistamine tablet (such as claritin, (loratadine) allegra, zyrtec, etc) can be very helpful. The onset of symptom relief may be an hour or so. If the allergen can be identified (cat, dog, etc), then taking the antihistamines before allergen exposure is even better!
