What can be done to stop having obsessive thoughts about my death?

Great question: You'll need to decide for yourself whether there is empirical support for the hypothesis that we are not just our bodies (i've decided "yes" -- i've seen enough just in medicine). For most people, the fear of death fades as a person learns to love others unselfishly and finds meaning in leading a decent life, however long or short it may be.
