No standard package: I think that you should carefully think about what they need. Support and caring are the first things and you would be that package. If you know that the person has problems preparing meals or other things that would be helpful. You should try to give things that are helpful, but with an eye to the person who you are giving them to. Try to think of things that respect their independence.

How far along are: They? If very far along, anything they want. If just starting the process, there maybe some dietary restrictions not so good for them. An ipad, or a way for them to see the ones they love on facetime or skype, read about the best treatments about their condition and where the latest treatments are being done. Their pets. Children/grand children are refreshing presents to behold.
