Redness and swelling: The side effects of the MMR vaccine are similar to those of other vaccines. These include fever; redness, swelling and pain at the injection site; rash; swollen glands; and joint pain. These side effects eventually go away on their own. Despite past concerns about the safety of this vaccine, several studies have found no link between the MMR vaccine and autism.

Fever, rash: Most people don't have a reaction to the MMR vaccine but there are cases with symptoms ranging from mild to severe mild side effects include slight fever, rash and swelling of glands in the cheek or neck. Moderate reactions include seizure and stiffness of extremities. Severe effects include serious allergic reactions which occur in less than 1 out of a million doses.

Side Effects of MMR: Nothing happens most of the times. Sometimes swelling and redness at the site of injection Mild rash and bruise-like spots rarely occur two weeks after vaccine in 1 in 24000 cases. It gets better without any treatment. Other side effects are allergic reaction and rarely a mild case of mumps-like swelling.

Varies: It is a live virus vaccine. Most common side effect is: patients can develop measles (mild version) 7-14 days afterwards. Can have fever and a measles rash. Others can develop knots in the arm or leg or local reactions. Febrile seizures can happen, and fortunately not often. It can drain vitamin a stores so i recommend cod over oil for two weeks after (or before) to prevent/treat this side effect.

Fever, rash: 5 to 15% of children may get a fever usually 6 to 12 days after the vaccine which usually lasts 1 to 2 days. A rash may develop in 5% of recipients. Children predisposed to febrile seizures may be at a slightly increased risk for a seizure. Allergic reactions may occur to neomycin, gelatin or rarely egg.

Always possible: Yes, there are potential side effects to the MMR vaccine. The main ones are fever 5-10 days after, and a possible rash. But, usually, I do not see these. If you have a severe egg allergy, an allergic reaction is also possible since the vaccine is prep'd with some egg components. If you need more info, go to www.Cdc.Gov and look up the MMR vaccine. Or just google mmr. Hope this is helpful.
