Serious: Depending on the type and severity of the condition. The heart can be dilated or can be hypertrophic. Dilated heart can have a systolic dysfunction that can be idiopathic, ischemic, drug related etc. Diastolic dysfunction that can be from severe chronic hypertension, aortic valve stenosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Treatment can be different. 2d echocardiogram for diagnosis.
