Apheresis: Abc (aka apheresis) uses a highly sophisticated separation/filtration process to allow specific blood components to be collected (like platelets, plasma, red blood cells) from a donor while returning the un-needed components. Whole blood donation, as its name suggests, collects all blood component parts, which will be later separated and used to care for up to 4 patients from 1 donation.
