A member asked:

Would college binge drinking be enough to cause fatty liver?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Binge drinking: Liver disease caused by alcohol depends on several factors, such as quantity of alcohol, medications that you are taking, hydration level, obesity, diabetes, metabolic diseases, or prior infections of the liver such as hepatitis or mono. Binge drinking in a young person for a few years in college may not cause fatty liver, but it depends on the frequency and amount of your binging.
