One day at a time: the generally recommendation is to at least lower your calorie intake by 10% from your baseline and gradually increase your exercise ( walking works well). Remember you can walk anywhere, even can walk in place. If you exercise 30 minutes a day and keep your calorie intake down by 10%, expect to lose 4-6 pounds a month
