Can drinking a lot of water really make your skin less oily?

Doubt it: Oiliness of the skin is controlled by sebaceous glands in the skin. These glands are under the direction of the sex hormones in the body which is why they turn on during puberty. Topical matting creams such as oc8 can help reduce oiliness. Isotretinoin is a tightly regulated medication that can reduce oiliness as well.

Potentially: If skin is very oily, proper hydration can help to regulate oil production in skin.
