See details: Doctors have differing opinions. I personally never use Colchicine because it takes too long to work and toxicity is common. Joint aspiration and injection is a quick and easy way except for the big toe which is painful to inject.. Some will advise nsaids but i personally use a short tapering course of prednisone..

Gout: There are many medications for gout during an episode one causes major GI problems but works well. Dicuss with your dr asap as gout is extremely painful.
