Fluids: Drinking 80-100 ounces of non caffeinated non alcoholic fluid daily will correct most chronic constipation issues in 2-3 weeks, but you have to continue the regimen from that point on. Sometimes adding a prokinetic like regla, rx from doctor can help with your other 2 medical diagnoses. Check with your GI doctor.

Constipation: Always check with your physician to see if medication is needed. Also review your current medications with your doctor s there are many medications that can cause constipation as side effects. Start with changes if your diet with fiber and vegetables. May benefit from miralax, (polyethylene glycol) dulcolax, mineral oil and lactulose.

Bowel dysfunction is: Very common in MS, afflicting at least 50% of patients. Gastroparesis, is NOT due to MS, and a second cause should be sought. Generic approaches to constipation include: stool softeners (Colace, Surfak), mild laxatives (percolate or per diem), rectal suppositories (glycerin, ducolax), rarely enemas. Increase dietary fibre.
