A member asked:

Is progestogen-only injectable contraceptive safe for someone with endometriosis? or safe in particular? what are the risks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: It is very safe in general, and a very safe treatment option for endometriosis. The progestin opposes estrogen to cause regression of the endometriosis. Lots of potential side effects though: irregular bleeding, weight gain, mood changes, - long term use (>2yrs) can cause osteopenia; smaller chance of acne, headaches, etc.
