Thick blood during period

Change in cycle: Usually a "thicker" flow just indicates a thicker lining build up. This happens from time to time, especially if it is "late". Usually isn't a concern unless the bleeding becomes quite heavy.

Probably Normal: When the period occurs, the blood is released inside the uterus. It does not always come right out the vagina. Because the blood has time to begin clotting, it frequently will seem heavier or thicker than what it may appear when someone has a laceration and sees the blood immediately.
