I recently had an esophaectomy.....i was advised i would no longer suffer with acid reflux. i still suffer..... is this uncommon?

Different: Technically you cannot have gastroesphageal reflux as the esophagus was removed. It is likely that you are experiencing symptoms from the stomach being brought up after removing the esophagus. The acid of the stomach can still reach the upper throat (pharynx) and may cause symptoms including the feeling of swallowing difficulties.
