A member asked:

My hydroxyproline is 93 which is twice the value it should be. i have severe osteoporosis. what does this score mean exactly, thank you?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bone loss.: An elevated hydroxyproline can indicate bone loss unless there is extensive skin disease. A medication which prevents bone loss should correct the abnormality and reduce the risk of fractures. Adequate calcium and vitamin d would also be helpful.
