I have osteoporosis and a copy of the x-ray and report. what's a z-score?

Your age group: The z score compares you to someone your age. T score compares you to a 25yo. If your z score is lower than a -1.5, you are at risk for secondary caues of bone loss such as thyroid dis.

Not as useful: As a t score. The z score is the how your bone density compares to someone else your age. It is given in a percent. The more important number is the T-score which is a patient's bone density compared to a normal female bone density. This means more as we can see how much bone loss has occurred and make a decision if osteoporosis is present. The T-score is also given as percent.
