What is the best course of action (besides aa) for staying sober after completing detox for alcohol?

Support & meaning: U r right, detox is only the start. Addiction is a disease of disconnection, & recovery is feeling connected w others & knowing that yr life has meaning. What i see as the 3 "active ingredients" in successful recovery r 1)support from others who r succeeding @staying sober, 2) working on personal growth, & 3) improving yr spiritual or emotional groundedness. Lifering & sos r alternative grps to aa.

Any effective : Sobriety program will require work on your part & is best done w support. There are a number of programs that are not 12 step based. Smart recovery (self-management & recovery training), rational recovery (with addictive voic recognition technique) & lifering (sobriety/secularity/ self-help). There are also non-12 step rehabilitation centers. You can also work with an addiction medicine specialist.
