A member asked:

My wife is pregnant. 8 weeks. can she use some antifungal ointment with bethametasone and miconazole? in case she couldn't what do you suggest?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Meds in pregnancy: Three issues here. 1. All medications to be used during pregnancy should be checked with ob/gyn. 2. There are antifungal topical prescription medications that are pregnancy category b, meaning it's ok to use during pregnancy if needed. 3. Combination steroid-antifungal creams don't work. Usually have strong steroid & weak antifungal and can make fungal infections worse. Please see dermatologist.
