A member asked:

I noticed some bubbles in urine. this are more bubbles in the morning. however if i sit-down and pee then no bubbles. does that mean i don't have protein in my urine? does bubbles only form when there are protein and you pee standing up?

Bubbles in the urine do not often mean proteinuria is present. In the other hand, heavy proteinuria may manifest with foamy (bubbles) urine, please note the difference between 2 statements. There are many factors which can contribute to the presence of more or less bubbles in the urine. Take care.

No- bubbles are not diagnostic of protein in urine. There are many causes for it- mostly benign. In your caseit is probably the force of urine hitting the toilet when standing and urinating
