Does not make any difference. Depending on weather and shoes the besr way ro cure it is to wear open toed sandles. The tungit that cauwe it loe hot, sweaty plades. Rarely see someone with classic sandles with athleres foot. To do you onw experiment try reg shoe on one rool and sandle on othere.

If you have severe athletes foot you might want to consider seeing a podiatrist. The infection most likely started in the feet and it’s now progressed into your hands. I would start by applying over-the-counter antifungal like Lamisil. Keeping skin dry is important. Spraying with an anti-perspirant is also very helpful sandals sometimes not possible within a winter climate.
