This is a very good and wise question. TB bacteria can become resistant to one or more of the antibiotics used to treat it. This isn't very common, and usually the standard drugs work well. But it's something to discuss with the patient's doctor. If the TB bacteria have been cultured in a lab, it can be tested for antibiotic resistance. Good luck.
