This would be consistent with an exposure to airborne allergens which often affect the upper airway and associated functions. A trial of a non sedating antihistamine like fexofenadine (Allegra) may provide some relief. These symptoms often arise in specific seasons when the triggering pollen/agent is in high numbers & disappears when the season ends.
