I had spine surgery and i'm having problems with my bowels and spasms with stiffness on my left leg.whenever i feel like releasing and any bowel movements i get spasms and become stiff till i'm done, what can help control the bowels and the spasms?

Ask your surgeon if you'd be helped by taking baclophen, a medication which treats/prevents muscle spasms that can occur with spinal problems. Also, prevent straining during bowel movements by drinking lots of fluids, eating plenty fiber,taking stool softeners. If you have little urge for BMs, take a gentle bowel stimulant like senokotS daily. Inserting glycerin rectal suppositories helps BMs too
