A member asked:

Will i get reinfected if i continue to have unprotected sex with my partner if we both have hpv? in other words, will we both be able to hopefully have the virus go away on its own if we continue to not use a condom?

In general, people are resistant and often immune, to new infection with the HPV type they already have. Therefore, couples do not "ping pong" their mutual HPV infections back and forth. Whether or not you use condoms will make no difference in the likelihood or speed with which your HPV infection(s) are cleared by your immune systems.
