A member asked:

Can you take atenolol anf olmesartan for high blood pressure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Absolutely, providing there are no medical contraindications. It's not an unusual combination. Atenolol is a beta blocker which lowers BP by slowing heart rate&reducing the force of heart muscle contraction. Olmesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker which works by dilating the arterioles throughout the body thereby reducing the pressure against which the heart contracts.
