Sleep Deprivation?: Sleep loss and stress can have effects similar to what you describe. Stress on the nervous system from lack of sleep or poor nutrition or just from stressful events can lead to chemical changes in the brain that might do this. If you return to your regular schedule and stress level and find that it stops, then you probably have your answer. If not, see a therapist specializing in anxiety.
