A member asked:

Its been 5 days since a back surgery because two vertebras were grinding on eachother (the disc in between was gone) but the needling pain in the thies and butt is the same as before. typically how long does it take for the pain to start vanishing ?

The pain is going to gradually subside in weeks rather than in days. It is difficult to prognosticate not know the nature of the surgery however you may want to use multimodal approach to ease the pain like taking pain medication, combined with operant conditioning that suits you, with graduated exercises/physiotherapy, things to occupy you and take your mind off the pain that you enjoy.
