: Unfortunately, there are no known treatments that improve the immune system in a way known to lower the risk of shingles. However, you should be vaccinated with the updated herpes zoster vaccine (Shingrix )to further lower the chance of recurrent episodes. Discuss it with your doctor. Good luck.
