Can a lipoma(?) at base of skull cause headaches and neck ache? dr says its nothing but it really aches inc. back of head. scalp sometimes feels sensitive/painful to touch. could a ultrasound give any answers?

Would be unlikely and if a lipoma ultrasound would not tell much. If it really bothers you it can be removed relatively easily by a surgeon.

A lipoma is a benign tumor, easily excised via an outpatient procedure! Yes, it could be locally irritating especially if you repetitively touch or rub it. Why do you think further testing is necessary? Doubt any value to an ultrasound. See a dermatologist and get this addressed.
