I assume you're taking labetolol to control hypertension. Stopping & starting it allows spikes in blood pressure which can harm your arteries,kidneys and heart muscle. A steady BP of about 120-130/80 should be the goal& a set appropriate dose of labetolol is needed to do it. If its effect is too erratic, a different extended action antihypertensive medication should be tried. Labetolol is not one.
