Viral infection could have caused lymph node to swell. I suspect thyroid gland has enlarged gradually before he developed current acute illness. Have him evaluated by his PCP.

Went to the doc for cold sore and enlarged neck lymph node. Its been 2.5 weeks lymph node still enlarged. Ultrasound says bilateral reactive lymph nodes. All blood work normal. Any ideas why its still enlarged? I think it feels a bit smaller?
