Because of neuropathy she may not be able to sense skin damage from too much heat. If her feet feel better with some warmth applied, only set the device to the lowest setting and don't allow it to be on all night. I'm not a fan of such a patient applying heat to feet that are numb.

The described device will provide no substantial benefit if indeed she does possess advanced diabetic polyneuropathy and may cause local burns over the feet which could lead to infection, and even amputation. Suggest she see an endocrinologist for optimal diabetic management. A medical food called MetanX taken twice daily may help over several months.
