Are abscesses in the nipple called subareolar abscess or can it just be a abscess ? doc today just said abscess from sweat, ingrown hair, etc. he didnt call it any particular name. im following up with primary care soon to drain. im on antibiotics?

Any abscess is called an abscess. A subareolar abscess is just being more descriptive of where the abscess is. You can be more descriptive for any abscess. In the end, they are all abscesses.

I went to my primary care doc due to abscessed tooth and still had swelling in face. She gave me another round of Amoxicillin & something called chlorhexidine glu 0.12% rinse. Will this help any with my abscess? Oral surgeon appt in almost 3 weeks?
