A member asked:

I have a pulled right pectoral muscle. will a cortisone shot stop the pain for awhile?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A cortisone shot would not be the best for pain or treatment of the pulled pectoral muscle. A ketorolac injection (as long as your kidney function is good) would help with pain and inflammation however and it does not need to be directly into the injured muscle. Ice, applying diclofenac gel and rest are helpful as well.
