I am 68 yrs. old . started on anastrozole a month ago. having muscle and joint pain ,and muscle spasms, charlie horse pain in calf few times. can this be caused by the anastrozole? i do have arthritis . awaiting results of dexa bone density scan?

Yes, anastrozole can cause such symptoms involving the musculoskeletal system in as many as half of the patients taking them. Such symptoms are sometimes referred to as AIMSS, first described about 20 years ago.
