Ive got partial tears in my patellar tendon & oedma from a football injury last year. what treatments would help me recover? would massage or acupuncture heal it?

It has been a year but you are still not yet recovered. You should revisit an orthopedist. If no surgery is not indicated, then you will be referred to a physical therapy program with multiple modality approaches. Massage and/or acupuncture are mainly for pain relief, not for functional correction. Take care.

I recommend consulting a sports medicine specialist with an interest in knee injuries. You want accurate diagnosis, best treatment, proper physical therapy & followup care to prevent chronic knee problems.
