Phentermine is chemically related to amphetamine and is a controlled substance. More than likely you are on methadone either for cancer pain or for treatment post drug addiction. Therefore you should not be prescribed other controlled medication such as phentermine. Also, phentermine and methadone can rarely cause a complication called serotonin syndrome.
