The most common symptoms of age-related hearing loss include the sensation that others are mumbling-you hear them talking but you cannot understand them. Having to turn up the volume on your television and having difficulty hearing the other person on the phone can also occur. Difficulty hearing in background noise, like in a restaurant, can also occur. An audiologist can administer a hearing test
