Hearing loss: due to congenital disorders is an active area of clinical research. Stem cell therapies, Vit C, E, and other agents are being studied. Cochlear implants and hearing aids can be used in many conditions. There are over 300 inherited causes for familial hearing loss. I recommend that you obtain a consultation from an expert in this field. Avoid things that will worsen hearing (loud noises->70dB) /ASA

Not if neural loss: I assume the hearing loss is sensorineural in nature, in which case it is not likely to improve with time. Some familial hearing loss is conductive and may be improved with surgery in the right scenario. See an ENT MD to discuss this.
