A member asked:

I have eczema around my mouth & tacrolimus ointment 0.1% didn't work. unconfident in new derm who prescribed steroid ointment before seeing me. old derm said steroids are too strong for face & i know people w/ topical steroid withdrawal. is it safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There are always concerns about applying steroid ointment or creams to the face and it should only be prescribed & supervised by a dermatologist. If you're not satisfied with your current status or treatment, I recommend consulting a dermatologist with a special interest in eczema at the department of dermatology at a university hospital near you.
