Hi are syphilis chancres found more commonly internally or externally? do lymph nodes swell where the chancre forms? thanks in advance?

Usually external and easily seen, but chancres can occur internally e.g. in the rectum or vagina. Usually there is regional lymph node inflammation, but not always.
