My 5mo has started holding his head back when we pick him up from laying. he has great head control and has never done this before, is it a new skill? he also looks at the ceiling a lot when being held now. should be concerned he just started that?

By 3 months of age, most infants born at term achieve steady head control. Could be a delay in gross motor skill. Certainly needs to be brought up on infant's next well child visit.
