A member asked:

I'm following up on my last question re hsv/hiv from oral (not enough space to type it out again here): as dr. g recommended, i went to a clinic today for testing. should i have also requested 72 hr pep, or is my risk not high enough to warrant that?

Sorry, you'll have to ask your particular questions in a single question. HIV almost never is acquired by oral sex, probably not a serious concern so PEP probably isn't warranted. If you were exposed to someone's active oral herpes outbreak by oral sex, it is possible you are at risk for genital herpes due to HSV1, but not HSV2.
