A member asked:

Had tongue issues with an ace inhibitor, how long on average will it take to resolve after stopping the medication?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tongue issues like swelling , known as angioedema , can happen with Ace inhibitors . Most cases resolve within 2 days after stopping the medication. However sometimes we can see a recurrence of the effect weeks afte stopping the medication so it needs to be monitored . Ace inhibitors are not advisable after such a reaction . Certain therapies are being tried out to avoid recurrences .
