Can be linked: Toxoplasmosis can cause uveitis but is possible to have inactive toxoplasmosis and iritis that are not related as well. A serum toxoplasma igm test can indicate whether there is an active infection with toxoplasmosis, but if negative does not rule out that possibility as it does not always rise when the organism is in the eye.
